The goal of the mission is to perform tehnological experiments and testing long-range comunications.
The satellite is a 35 cm cubest about 15 Kg carring a radio transmitter in 5,8 Ghz amateur band.
  • Downlink- 5840 Mhz.
  • Power- 4.8W/antenna
  • Antenna- 2 microstrip patch antennas.
  • Modulation- AFSK/FM in LEO mode near planet and CW during the flight.
Unitec 1 does not have an attitude control system so will be impossible to mantain patch antennas pionting Earth and the signal will be intermittent.
Since february in Denmark Alexandru Csete- OZ9AEC build a 5.8 Ghz hardware and software system base on USRP for tracking the probe and collect data's from it using the big 7m dish antenna from OZ7SAT radioclub.
